Murray Biscuit Recalls Some Choc. Chip Cookies

POSTED: Saturday, October 15, 2011
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. --
A Kellogg Co. subsidiary is recalling some chocolate chip cookies shipped to four Southern states.

The sugar free chocolate chip cookies were made by Murray Biscuit Co. LLC. They come in 5.5-ounce packages.

Murray says cookies with pecans were mistakenly put in packages that don't list pecans as an ingredient.

The company is recalling 904 cases as a precaution. It says only 12 were labeled incorrectly.

Those cookies were shipped to retail customers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. They have a UPC code of 82011 91335 and a "best if used by" date of April, 17, 2012.

Murray says a customer reported the problem. The company says no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.

Murray Biscuit is owned by Kellogg, which is based in Battle Creek, Mich.
